Desserto is a highly sustainable plant based material as an alternative to leather made from cactus, cruelty free, without any toxic chemicals, phthalates, PVC, biodegradable plant based material.
The tenate is made in Oaxaca in the Mixteca region that is known for its palm weaving. The tradition comes from pre-Hispanic times collecting the palms that are cut in the mountains, the leaves are dried in the sun for three to four days, natural pigment if is necessary and weaving. This process takes a long time, people sit for hours weaving and designing the figures of the baskets.
